Volunteer Residences

New York City:

Volunteers in East Harlem generally live in one of two residences in the neighborhood. One is located on 115th street and the other on 120th street. The 115th street residence is a two-person apartment that occupies the lower level of a brownstone owned by the Sisters and can accommodate two volunteers. The 120th street residence is also a brownstone, and has two floors set apart for volunteer use, with each floor capable of accommodating two to three volunteers. Both residences come fully furnished with their own bed rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living rooms, along with televisions, VCRs, etc. Laundry facilities are also located within both residences.

Philadelphia:

The Philadelphia community has space for one volunteer who would live in community with the Sisters. Cooking and household tasks would be shared by the community, as would time for prayer and reflection.

Worcester :

Volunteers in Worcester live in a separate volunteer house called Eugenie House. It is a tri-level with volunteer residences on the second and third floors. Each floor can accommodate anywhere from two to four volunteers and has its own bathroom and kitchen facilities, along with a shared common area with a TV/VCR, a couch, chairs, and laundry facilities. A Community Liason in charge of the utilities and upkeep of the residence lives on the first floor.

Dorchester:

The LSAV has accommodations for two volunteers in Dorchester. Both share half of a split-level house called Durham House—after its owner and Project Hope staff person Lawanda Durham. Volunteers have their own bedroom, a common area with TV and VCR, a kitchen and full bath.
